The Diary of Alice
by Joavien Ng (Singapore) & Paloma Calle (Spain)
19 – 29 January 2011, Baba House – 157 Neil Road
A Tanz Haus programme

Be one of 16 guests at a post-dinner card game and listen to intimate stories of Alice.

Set within the dining hall of the Baba House, an elegant conserved Peranakan residence, artists Joavien Ng and Paloma Calle create an interactive performance built upon fragments of identity and random narrative encounters, with the palpable risk of turning tipsy at the end of it all.

The Diary of Alice is a playful artistic exploration of multiple  ‘Alices’ and the fascinating universe of identities  – fact, fiction or otherwise – that the name holds. ‘Alice’ becomes an open canvas for each audience-guest to scribble his/her wildest imagination, desire, memory and aspiration of who ‘Alice’ can be.
